The lord sleeps ?
My grandfather used to love this quote, “the lord wears pajamas but he doesn’t sleep? Maybe he can tell me now that he is with the lord, if he sleeps?
I sleep in my comfy bed surrounded with 4 pillows, 2 firm and 2 extra soft, depending on my mood of that night, I will choose the level of softness, I am usually surrounded with one big comforter sometimes covering my head to drown out the light and make sleep come faster. I don’t sleep with an alarm clock however, I tend to wake up at approximately the same time everyday. I was taught at an early age to turn around and make up my bed, brush the sheets and align and smooth out the edges, fluff the pillows and fold the blanket and leave the blanket at the foot side of the bed, this technique became a little more advanced when I learned from my sister and visiting hotels that the sheets can be folded around the four corners and tucked in under the mattress.
My next task is to move my curtains to the sides to let in the sunshine and go to my altar and offer my obeisances by bowing down and then play kirtan from my YouTube favorite Iskcon artist before I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and shower. In order to serve the lord, the body and clothing should be clean. I worship the deities by offering incense, flowers, water and ghee lamp.
I would then clean up my altar dishes and proceed to breakfast.
I am more of a routine person and when I have a slight variation in my schedule, I have to adjust my routine and be a little more flexible.
The lord rest on the universal ocean so maybe he is resting and not sleeping because he is aware of everything, thoughts, task that is happening in every universe. I like to feel like I am waking him up because it gives me great pleasure to know that as unqualified as I am, the mercy of the lord is so great that I can wake him up and see him🙏.
